Lexus Broadway in Austin presented by Texas Performing Arts announced the seven-show 2019-2020 Season is headlined by the six-time Tony Award® pop culture phenomenon DEAR EVAN HANSEN; a thrilling new production filled with unforgettable beauty, Disney’s ALADDIN and a new mesmerizing production launches in Austin JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR. Rounding out the incredible Season: HELLO, DOLLY!, COME FROM AWAY and A BRONX TALE.  Make it a 7-show package with LES MISÉRABLES.

LES MISÉRABLES, SEP 10-15, 2019

Cameron Mackintosh presents the new production of Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg’s Tony Award-winning musical phenomenon, Les Misérables, direct from its acclaimed Broadway return. Featuring the beloved songs “I Dreamed A Dream,” “On My Own,” “Stars,” “Bring Him Home,” “One Day More,” and many more, this epic and uplifting story has become one of the most celebrated musicals in theatrical history. With its glorious new staging and dazzlingly reimagined scenery inspired by the paintings of Victor Hugo, this breathtaking new production has left both audiences and critics awestruck.

JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR is an iconic musical phenomenon with a world-wide fan base. In celebration of its 50th Anniversary, a new mesmerizing production comes to North America and launches in Austin. With music and lyrics by Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony winners Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR is set against the backdrop of an extraordinary series of events during the final weeks in the life of Jesus Christ as seen through the eyes of Judas. Originally staged by London’s Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre, this production won the 2017 Olivier Award for Best Musical Revival.

Cultures clashed and nerves ran high, but uneasiness turned into trust, music soared into the night, and gratitude grew into enduring friendships.

A BRONX TALE, May 5-10, 2020

Academy Award® nominee Chazz Palminteri’s teamed up with Academy Award® winner Robert De Niro and Tony® winner Jerry Zaks to create A BRONX TALE, based on Chazz Palminteri’s true life story. This streetwise musical has The New York Times hailing it as “A Critics’ Pick! The kind of tale that makes you laugh and cry.”

2019-20 Season packages are only available to current, renewing subscribers.  New patrons are encouraged to sign up for the official waiting list at BroadwayinAustin.com and will be notified once new subscriptions become available.

The six or seven show Broadway in Austin presented by Texas Performing Arts 2019-20 Season subscription packages go on sale beginning 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 12; prices start as low as $224.  Season Subscribers may add the return of LES MISÉRABLES as a seventh show to complete their package for as little as $249.
