Halestorm With Pretty Reckless in Corpus Christi

One ‘Hale’ of a show:

After playing in front of nearly 27,000 people in San Antonio over the weekend, Halestorm jumped back onto the ‘Carnival of Madness’ tour with The Pretty Reckless and Starset, to play the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas this Tuesday, May 26.

Halestorm is touring their newly released studio album ‘Into the Wild Life’. With Lzzy Hale, arguably the most talented voice in rock n’ roll right now, fronting the group, Halestorm rattled off a 16 song set (and a drum solo) that had everyone standing for the duration of the show in a seated venue.

As the band has grown and developed within the studio, so has their stage presence. There’s nothing fancy to it, no gimmicks, it’s just straightforward rock n’ roll for 90 minutes. What separates Halestorm from other acts is not only the intensity in which the play with but, you can tell they’re having the absolute time of their life doing it. There’s no on stage friction, there’s no drama and at no point does it look like they’re just going through the motions. There’s no ‘off time’ where Lzzy could go for a note and doesn’t. It’s all or nothing the entire set.

If there is band that you have not seen currently worth the price of admission, you can make thatHalestorm is at the top of the list.

The ‘Carnival of Madness’ tour is set to wrap up in just over 2 weeks on June 14th. Halestorm however, has dates all the way through September listed on their site, http://www.halestormrocks.com. (Photography by ©Matt Kelley)
