Located in Luck, TX on a set location for the Willie Nelson film, The Red-Headed Stranger, Willie Nelson‘s ranch served as the home to a one of a kind 1-day music festival. Along with Willie Nelson himself and several members of his family, this year’s lineup performed on two stages and this year’s artist list included Elle King, Nikki Lane, Leon Bridges, Butch Walker and many others (list below).
Heartbreaker comes at the absolute best time… right smack in the middle of SXSW — a notoriously crazy-crammed, though thoroughly enjoyable, musical experience most centered in Austin, TX. Heartbreaker Banquet stands out as an oasis, or escape from the craziness that is south by. Buses shuttle attendees to and from Austin to escape the madness and enter a truly unique vibe that feels like the Old Wild Wild West. Guests begin their journey through Heartbreaker Banquet by arriving on a horse-filled land and knowing that no more than 3,000 attendees will have the privilege of experiencing this special day. It is a genuine treat to visit the old white chapel, have a drink in the saloon, visit artists selling their wares and stroll back and forth to experience music worthy of performing in such a legendary venue.
All day there was buzzing about Neil Young and maybe even Snoop Dogg possibly attending and performing with Willie Nelson but quite frankly, it didn’t happen and it did’t matter. Nothing more needed to happen for the extraordinary day to be better or more magical. With the fantastic work of both Electric Lady Studios and Robot Fondue, once again Heartbreaker Banquet was an extraordinary event.
This year, Heartbreaker Banquet sales benefitted Austin musicians mental health organization, the Sims Foundation andWholesome Wave a non-profit that brings underserved citizens healthy food options.
