Saturday night, December 7th, the AT&T Center was shining brightly as Luke Combs arrived in San Antonio on his Beer Never Broke My Heart Tour. San Antonio’s biggest country fans packed the arena and were ecstatic when the lights went down and the curtain dropped for Combs to kickoff on the song, Honkey Tonk Highway. From there he moved from one crowd-pleaser to another, picking up a guitar and jamming into the lyrics of When It Rains It Pours. After that the fans were dancing and singing along as Combs serenaded them with a massive 20-song setlist of chart-topping hits such as Angels Working Over Time, She Got The Best Of Me, Refrigerator Door, and Beautiful Crazy. Luke Combs’ success was not built overnight but has been cemented on this tour, ensuring that his status as one of Country’s top voices will endure. Hearing these songs live and seeing how they resonated with a packed house full of Country fans was simply amazing. After the first closer of the tour’s namesake, Beer Never Broke My Heart, Combs came back on stage for the encores of Better Together and Hurricane closing out one electrifying night.

Michael Mullenix
Growing up around the world, Michael developed a taste and appreciation for all styles of music. While studying film making at Boston University, he dove headfirst into a mosh-pit and never came out. It was in Boston that he combined his love of film and photography with his drive and passion for being a chronicler of the underground music scene. After graduation he headed to Los Angeles and for over a decade has worked with some of the top musicians and actors in the entertainment industry. Lured to Austin by the cultural explosion in the music and film scenes taking place there, he relocated two years ago and describes Austin as a cultural Shang Ri La!
