Trace Adkins brought the Central Texas Country fanbase together at the H-E-B Center in Cedar Park for an incredible and memorable night on Friday, August 9th. When the house lights went down, the band started up on the intro to (This Ain’t) No Thinkin’ Thing as Adkins emerged from behind his stage backdrop, lit up by the center spotlight. From there the tempo picked up as he jammed out to upbeat hits like Chrome and Songs About Me. The interesting thing about Trace Adkins’ brand of Country is his ability to fluctuate from soulful, heartfelt ballads to fist-pumping, good-time anthems nearly from song to song. Fan-favorites like You’re Gonna Miss This and Just Fishin’ pulled at the heart-strings of every concert-goer in the house one minute, while Ladies Love Country Boys and (the popular) There’s A Girl In Texas invited them to cut a rug in the aisles the next. Ultimately Trace brought it all to a close on his Southern favorite, Honkey Tonk Badonkadonk, receiving cheering roars from the audience.

Michael Mullenix
Growing up around the world, Michael developed a taste and appreciation for all styles of music. While studying film making at Boston University, he dove headfirst into a mosh-pit and never came out. It was in Boston that he combined his love of film and photography with his drive and passion for being a chronicler of the underground music scene. After graduation he headed to Los Angeles and for over a decade has worked with some of the top musicians and actors in the entertainment industry. Lured to Austin by the cultural explosion in the music and film scenes taking place there, he relocated two years ago and describes Austin as a cultural Shang Ri La!
