Finnish symphonic metal band, Apocalyptica, engaged a near-capacity audience at the historic Paramount Theatre in Denver, Colorado Tuesday night.

The stop in Denver marked the eighth stop of a 21 date U.S. tour. The evening featured cover songs by Metallica spanning nearly the metal groups entire discography. The arrangement of metal meeting symphony may seem unusual or maybe even unconventional but, from the first strike of the cello, the draw becomes quite clear.

The affair is split into two sets. The first of which is four musicians and their instruments. Very symphony like. The second rivals that of any rock concert you’ve been to. The drum set alone adds to the onstage spectacle. Certainly, this is where the energy picks up and where the concert-goers, who were attired in their Metallica apparel and essentials, really show their passion for the band.

The ‘Plays Metallica by Four Cellos’ tour forges on and dates can be found at Apocalyptica.com.
