To say KAABOO is a music festival doesn’t do it justice. Going on its fifth year, KAABOO has partnered with the Dallas Cowboys to host the newest iteration, KAABOO Texas at the Cowboy’s AT-T Stadium.
From its inception, KAABOO has defined itself as a non-traditional, up-scale festival of the arts for adults and without the grimy dirt in the air, or feelings of exhaustion after attending a high energy concert. KAABOO Texas continues the event’s reputation in providing top talent in music, comedy, culinary and art entertainment while offering something out of the ordinary: rest and relaxation.
For starters, KAABOO Texas’ musical lineup offers a taste of the past and present for three straight days. With 120 artists on six different stages, each day brings a star-studded performance. Friday headliners Lionel Richie and The Killers end the night of top artists including Ms. Lauryn Hill, Alanis Morrisette, Blue October, Bush, Ludacris, and Joan Jett and the Black Hearts. Saturday is no different with Kid Rock and Lynyrd Skynyrd finishing off a second days event preceded by The Black Eyed Peas, FloRida, Collective Soul, Garbage, Rick Springfield and the Violent Femmes. Sunday’s line up finishes off the festival with Little Big Town and Sting, and performances by The Avett Brothers, Pitbull, The Counting Crows, The B-52’s, Andy Grammer, St. Paul & The Broken Bones and more.
For those seeking a more digital musical experience, KAABOO’s BASK option sets the stage for a top Dance and Electronic music experience with performance and DJ sets by CASH CASH, Chantel Jeffries, Cheat Codes, Chromeo and the legendary Paul Oakenfold for starters. Attendance to BASK does require an additional ticket purchase, but the experience offers a water escape with pool and private cabana options as you listen to the DJ mix it on stage.
And if music isn’t your jam or you’re looking for a laugh, KAABOO’s comedy club, Humor Me, has you covered with top comedic acts each day including Dennis Miller, Brad Garrett, Demetri Martin, Garfunkel and Oats, Whitney Cummings, Nate Bargatze, and you guessed it, much more.
Are You Tired Yet? KAABOO has you covered!
Outside the traditional musical experience, KAABOO’s mission centers around being non-traditional. For starters, you won’t find a porta-porta potty on site, but instead, real-deal flush facilities to write home about; but this is only the beginning. Separate from the music, the comedy or bright lights and loud noises are experiences that can give you a little bit of rest, relaxation and rejuvenation. A defining characteristic that sets KAABOO apart are its indulgences. Festival goes have a unique opportunity to enjoy the pleasure of a hot hair blow-out, fashion consultations, messages or a gentlemanly hot-shave. Defined as “relaxers,” event organizers see this as an attempt to break free from the traditional feeling attendees have of being worn-down after a long day’s musical trip.
Whether you’re a foodie or not, the palate options will be an experience all its own with guest Chefs such as Michelin starred chef Michael Mina, James Beard award-winning chefs, Chef Michelle Bernstein, and Chef Sean Brock, who was featured on Netflix’s popular series “Chefs Table.” Texas-based Chefs are also showcased including Chef Brad Albers, Chef Junior Borges, and Chef Kent Rathbun.
For North Texas, an event like this has been a long time coming. KAABOO Texas certainly sets itself apart from the rest of the festival pack with a wide range of options including high-end packages such as the Rockstar VIP 3 Day Passes for $3,999, or the upgraded 3 Day Ultimate Hang package for a cool $20,000 which includes: backstage access, access to meet and greets with the artists, and other exclusive amenities. While many of us won’t have the luxury to partake in the more elaborate VIP offerings of the festival, the three-day Lone Star General Admission ticket, at $199 offers a generous amount of experience for three full days. The only thing you need to figure out is who’s watching the kids. Did I mention there’s a KAABOO Caymen?
