Legendary guitarist and former Dire Straits frontman Mark Knopfler rolled into Toronto on his Down the Road Whenever Tour. Billed as a farewell to the road, the Tour was met by a very welcoming and appreciative crowd. Knopfler performed a variety of solo material as well as a good number of Dire Straits songs (6, as a matter of fact).
The musicianship was off-the-charts. Knopfler performed two encores and received a long, standing ovation at the end of the night. As the show ended, an adoring fan tried to rush the stage only to be thwarted in her attempt. It was a very enjoyable evening of music. Hopefully, Knopfler will continue to make music for quite a while longer!
