Austin’s Kat Edmonson returned to the Paramount Theatre on Wednesday night, February 19, to a glorious hometown welcome. After being introduced by local radio personality Jody Denberg, she walked out and gave him a warm hug before facing the crowd who showered her with love and appreciation. Starting the show with her vintage jazz take on The Cure’s “Just Like Heaven,” Kat quickly set the tone for the evening – beautiful sweet melodies, enchanting stories, and a shared affection between Kat and the audience. Her band was tight and she was simply delightful, her silky soprano bringing her songs to life. It was a beautiful evening from a beautiful artist.
Kat is touring in support of her latest album “Dreamers Do,” which dropped on February 7. It combines originals with reimagined classic Disney songs, weaving a story that occurs one sleepless night.
