P!NK brought her “Beautiful Trauma World Tour” to San Antonio’s AT&T Center on Thursday night.
Iowa native Julia Michaels was selected to accompany her on this tour stop, and she was no stranger to San Antonio since being the support act for Maroon 5 a year ago. A Grammy-nominated multiplatinum pop singer and songwriter, Michaels has been writing on the Hollywood circuit since she was 16 and released her first solo single “Issues” in 2017. She’s toured with Shawn Mendez, Niall Horan, Maroon 5, Keith Urban, and now P!nk! Michaels co-wrote many smash hits including Justin Bieber’s “Sorry,” Nick Jonas ft. Tove Lo’s “Close,” Selena Gomez’s “Hands To Myself,” and a host of others. Dressed in a sweet navy summer dress and jean jacket, Michaels performed eight songs, and with the help of the audience, closed out her set with crowd-favorite “Issues.” No doubt we will be seeing and hearing much more of the gifted Julia Michaels in the years to come.
DJ’s more often than not get ignored on concert reviews but DJ KidCutUp went above and beyond to get everyone pumped and on their feet before P!NK’s headlining performance. Fans joined in on every single song played and many were on their feet dancing throughout his 30-minute set.
Let’s just put it out there: There are not enough adjectives to describe P!NK and the Beautiful Trauma World Tour! P!NK delivers the kind of performance that will leave you completely mind-blown. This tour is no run-of-the-mill concert; it is a full-on EXPERIENCE!
P!NK, wearing a glittery black-sequenced bodysuit, emerged onstage swinging from a giant chandelier and performed “Let’s Get This Party Started.” Things did not slow down from there because P!NK isn’t just a singer-songwriter ~ she’s also a trapeze artist, a skilled dancer, a rock star, and funny enough to be considered a comedian as well. The production for this tour is more than a little elaborate. P!NK travels with eight musicians, ten dancers, giant video screens, ramps, chandeliers, props, elevators, and conveyor belts! The costume changes were a delight, and each song told a story of its own, which included a giant inflatable Eminem doll for her “Revenge,” and a full-on pyro show for “Just Like Fire.”
After close to two hours, P!NK ended the show with “Glitter in the Air,” and it was clear that nobody wanted it to end. The AT&T Center audience was on their feet singing and dancing, hoping it could all last a little longer. P!NK is not only an incredible role model for young fans, but she also inspires the older generation to be better and more warm-hearted humans. She’s honest, she’s real, and she’s compassionate. The cherry on top came as we walked out of the arena. I’m pretty certain that everyone’s cheeks hurt from smiling so much. The evening was pure joy.
