On the Eve of Easter celebration, Stevie Wonder appeared at the Frank Erwin Center on Saturday, April 4, 2015 where he performed with the beautiful and talented India Arie. They were accompanied by 20+ musicians, singers and 10 string players. Dressed in an incredible orange dress and butterfly-filled headpiece, India Arie escorted Wonder onto the stage beginning at 8:20 where he set the tone by praising God, asking his ‘special friends’ to take a moment to think about the hundreds of Christians being slaughtered and shared a positive and loving message about loving one another and hate causing you to block out blessings.
Performing a generous set list, Stevie Wonder only took a mere 20 minute break before resuming and playing until almost midnight. A friend wrote to me that although she didn’t intend on staying much past eleven because of an early Easter service the next day, she enjoyed herself so much that she stayed until the very end and would have happily stayed for another four or more hours.
