Mack, Jack & McConaughey, the charitable foundation started by Mack Brown, Jack Ingram and Matthew McConaughey, brought Chris Stapleton to the ACL Live at the Moody Theater on Thursday, April 25, 2019, for their seventh annual benefit series that raises millions for charities working to empower children.

Since its launch in 2013, the nonprofit has gifted nearly $7.5 million to charitable organizations. Funds raised through the 2018 event will support CureDuchenne, Dell Children’s Medical Center, HeartGift, just keep livin Foundation and The Rise School of Austin.

Thursday kicked off the multi-day event with the gala and a special performance by the Dixie Chicks, with a fashion show, golf tournament and the “Jack & Friends” concert featuring Wade Bowen taking place the following day, April 26.

Growing up around the world, Michael developed a taste and appreciation for all styles of music. While studying film making at Boston University, he dove headfirst into a mosh-pit and never came out. It was in Boston that he combined his love of film and photography with his drive and passion for being a chronicler of the underground music scene. After graduation he headed to Los Angeles and for over a decade has worked with some of the top musicians and actors in the entertainment industry. Lured to Austin by the cultural explosion in the music and film scenes taking place there, he relocated two years ago and describes Austin as a cultural Shang Ri La!
