Alice in Chains is an American rock band from Seattle, Washington formed in 1987. They dropped by the FirstOntario Concert Hall in Hamilton Ontario in the midst of their 10-date Canadian tour. The four-piece will take its latest album, the critically-acclaimed Rainier Fog (2018) through 10 cities from the West to as east as Quebec.

They came to rock and boy did they rock. Playing to a sold-out crowd they wasted no time and launched into a steady stream of rockers. Needless to say, the crowd was on their feet from the opening chords.

Starting with “Bleed the Freak” and then covering most of their popular songs including Rooster, Would?, Nutshell and Down in a Hole among all the others. Check the setlist below for a complete listing. Lead singer William Duvall seemed in really great spirits and really high energy while leading the party in Hamilton. They haven’t played Hamilton before and the fans showed their appreciation.

Opening the night was Dallas Green also better known as City and Colour. He played an acoustic set in front of a hungry Alice in Chains crowd and he held their attention. As an avowed Alice in Chains fan, the highlight of the night for him must’ve been performing an encore song with Alice in Chains. The song was Nutshell.

About the Photographer

Orest Dorosh
Orest Dorosh
I shoot live music performances, concerts, and portraits. I love the excitement of entering a venue, knowing that I’ll be photographing a concert and enjoying the energy of the crowd. There’s nothing like being in a venue and looking at the expressions on the faces of people who are all transfixed by the talent on stage. I shoot about 120 shows each year, averaging 2 bands per show, as well as several all-day and weekend festivals in and around Southern Ontario. From the large venues to very small ones, bright lights or barely lit stages, I hope that my photos capture the enjoyment the artists have in doing what they love to do.
