Bryan Adams Bare Bones Tour

Austin City Limits (ACL Live) hosted Bryan Adams as he continued his Bare Bones Tour. I have been a fan of fellow Canadian Bryan Adams since I first heard him in the early 80s. I’m not ashamed to say I probably wore out both my “You Want It You Got It” and “Cuts Like a Knife” albums… yes I said albums. I have seen him perform live several times and jumped at the opportunity of seeing him perform from his 2010 acoustic “Bare Bones” Album.

Bryan Adams and Gary Breit ~ Stripped down to the Bare Bones

Gary Breit (pronounced “brite”) is a Canadian keyboardist who has been with Bryan Adams since 2002 and is the sole accompaniment on the Bare Bones Tour.  Breit played keyboards on Adams’ 2004 album Room Service after the departure of Adams’ former keyboardist, Tommy Mandel.  He’s subsequently toured continuously with Adams and his band.

Together, this duo gave us an unprecedented chance to see Bryan Adams in his element.  From the very beginning, he made you feel as though he was sitting in your living room entertaining you personally. On stage, he radiates a warmth and familiarity that leaves you feeling like you know the man-and consider him your friend. The music, although consisting of but one guitar and one piano, was full and rich and did justice to every one of the 30+ songs performed during this 2+ hour show. Bryan interacted with the audience throughout the entire show, told personal stories, traded barbs with individuals and strongly encouraged the audience to “sing along”!  I left not sure who had more fun- me or Bryan. I will and look forward to seeing him live again.
